Last night a panicked client had dinner without bread. This is our text exchange from the fundraising dinner that I hope will help you avoid another confused dinner!
Client: Do you eat the bread plate on the right or left?
CLM: Well… you usually don’t eat the plate. But the bread on the plate to your left is for you.
Client: SHOOT! I was wondering why everyone else ate the bread…
CLM: Just remember BMW. Bread, Meal, Water: Bread on your left; Meal in the center; Water on your right.
As you head into the weekend where you will undoubtedly be sharing dinner with others, it is important to remember what is yours at the table!
- Food, such as bread and salad, are going to be on your left. “Food” and “left” both have four letters.
- Drinks, such as water, wine and tea are going to be on your right. “Drink” and “right” both have five letters.
To avoid confusion, thirst or starvation, remember BMW: the Ultimate Dining Guideline.
Happy Dining!
